Luis Landa, Jean Stephens, Angélica León and Hans Caro. On August 24-26, 2011, the RSM Latin America Regional Conference was held in Santiago, Chile. With the slogan “Together - Better - Stronger”, the event counted on the participation of almost 50 representatives from countries of the region. For the first time in the history, RSM has designated a coordinator for this zone, that is to say, Bob Burdett who for 10 years has worked as the International Affairs Office Director of RSM McGladrey. This effort of RSM International together with the allocation of a budget for marketing and development activities began quickly to promote a strong relationship between the offices of the zone.

Within the framework of the conference, the second meeting of the Regional Board of Directors was held. This meeting focused its attention on the creation of joint ventures and orchestrating the efforts of the RSM representatives in each country. This includes training and the uniform use of the RSM methodology.

Presence of Mexico in Chile: Luis Landa, Susana Martínez, Rodolfo Martínez Septién and Guillermo Erhard Other regional committees participated in the event. These committees have worked for many months in the Marketing and Development of Businesses, with the purpose of generating a coordinated plan for the region to be developed harmoniously with plans proposed by each country. For this task, Mexico has counted on the valuable participation of Virginia Bernardini of the Fondo y Forma agency, who is the external advisor of RSM Bogarín.

Participants treated topics of interest for the region. Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM International and Robert Coles, regional coordinator in Europe were present. Alfonso Elías Bornacini, partner and President of the Board of Directors of RSM Bogarín, participated as lecturer by explaining the business marketing and development that has been implemented by the organization in Mexico.

The RSM Chile hosts were very nice and treated all the representatives kindly all the time, in their offices and in the Marriott Santiago Hotel. Juan, Ramón and Luis Landa, who, besides being excellent professionals, are great musicians. They made the participants spend a wonderful time and sing at night.

The conference also included the participation of Guillermo Erhard, member of the Board of Directors of RSM International and Susana Martínez, president of the Quality Committee of RSM Bogarín. The event concluded with a dinner of show in the vineyard of Concha y Toro, sponsored by RSM Chile.

Bob Burdett and his wife Linda, Rodolfo Martínez Septién and Jean Stephens in the vineyard of Concha y Toro News of the meeting - Few days after the conclusion of the event, benefits are already palpable: the Latin American Board held another meeting and the budget that RSMi destined for the business marketing and development in the region is going to be approved. This project was prepared by the Marketing Committee presided by Diego Fernández of RSM Peru. Besides this, few weeks ago, the national training for audit managers and partners was held in Cancun, Mexico. Thanks to links generated in the Conference, some member countries decided to accept our invitation and were present at the training in question. Other business possibilities that have arisen from the event have begun to be treated… we are progressing.
